A new twist on summer fun

A new 36-foot-high slide has been installed at Bryson Memorial Pool and will be ready for use next season, Celina Mayor Jeff Hazel said. "While we did want it ready for this year, the permitting process at the state - it took all summer," he said at last week's city council meeting. The expense was pegged at about $400,000 for the slide, plus roughly $52,000 in necessary concrete work, and will be picked up by the Bryson Trust Fund, a charity dedicated to all city recreational facilities.
