The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Imelda Puthoff
Imelda G. "Sis" Puthoff, age 97 of Chickasaw, died Monday, December 8, 2025, at The Gardens at St. Henry.
Sis was born February 21, 1928, in Carthagena to the late John & Bernadina (Wuebker) Stelzer. On May 28, 1949, she married Lawrence "Barney" Puthoff. Sis and Barney were married for 58 years until his passing on June 23, 2007.
Sis survived by two sons and their wives, Roger & Jeri Puthoff of Minster, and Jerry & Diane Puthoff of St. Henry. Other surviving family members include five grandchildren, Jamie & Matt Tipton, Jenna Puthoff, Kelly & C.J. Brookhart, Justin & Jessica Puthoff, and Corey & Megan Puthoff, step-grandchildren Amy & Ted Wissman, and Bryan Purpus, eight great grandchildren, Liam, Nora, Trey, Mackenna, Nolan, Colten, Myles, and Hank, and step-great grandchildren Taylor, Kaycie, Jacob, Jamison, Briley, and Isaiah, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Sis is preceded in death by siblings and in-laws: Corinne Stelzer, Elenora & Walter Shockman, Henry & Sally Stelzer, Ludwina & Albert Bergman, Florian & Alvira Stelzer, Willibald & Alma Stelzer, Francis Stelzer, Werner & Rosella Stelzer, Norbert & Adele Stelzer, Delphina & Irenus Quinter, Northburga 'Butch' & Elmer Geise, and John & Ruth Stelzer, her father and mother-in-law, Joe & Regina Puthoff, and in-laws: Herman & Loretta Bergman, Eddie & Alma Puthoff, Alvin Puthoff, Leander & Roseann Puthoff, Romie & Norma Buening.
Sis retired in 1988 from Marion Local Schools. She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church in Chickasaw and the Rosary Altar Sodality. Sis was a member and had served as a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 571 in Maria Stein. She was a volunteer with the Peace Makers at the Maria Stein Shrine, and helped to make blankets at Otterbein for children in foster care. Sis loved playing cards and was active with her card club for over 50 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Friday, December 12, 2025, at Precious Blood Church in Chickasaw. Following the funeral mass, burial will take place in Precious Blood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 7:00pm on Thursday December 11, or from 9:00 to 9:45 am Friday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
Memorials may be made to EverHeart Hospice or the Center for Neurological Development in Burkettsville.
