Wood-burning stove may be linked to Sunday fire

A structure fire broke out and at one point fully engulfed the home at 7568 Riley Road on Sunday night.

CELINA - A structure fire broke out at a single-story home just outside of Celina Sunday night, fully engulfing it and burning into the morning hours.

A call came in at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday for a structure fire at 7568 Riley Road with one occupant still inside. The home was fully engulfed.

According to radio traffic that night, the fire was believed to have started out of a wood-burning stove inside the residence. The sole occupant of the home was removed with injuries unknown by midnight. The property owner is listed as Bryan Morrow on the county auditor's website.

The fire was reportedly spreading and there were flammable materials inside the garage at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, per Mercer County Sheriff's deputy Hannah Oakley.

All units of the Celina Fire Department responded with the Mercer County Sheriff's Office assisting on scene. No further information was available by press time.
