Phyllis Sherman, age 92 of Minster, OH passed away at 7:20 PM on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.

She was born in Fort Loramie on December 18, 1933 to the late William & Rosa (Poeppelman) Hilgefort. She married Lester Sherman on August 11, 1956 at St. Michael Church, Fort Loramie, and he preceded her in death on August 25, 2018.

She is also survived by 6 sons: Craig & Brenda (Luebke) Nick & Joan (Bornhorst), Dale & Joyce (Wagner), Bill & Jannis (Sherman), Dan & Lee (Fischbauch), Tom & Sue (Bergman) all of Minster, 19 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 1 on the way, sister: Edna Ahlers, St. Marys, sister-in-law: Margie Hilgefort, Sidney. She was preceded in death by 2 great grandchildren, siblings Clete & Audrey Hilgefort, Vern Hilgefort, Eileen & Paul Ahlers, Lester & Joyce Hilgefort, in-laws, Eugene Ahlers and Ruth & Lester Barlage.

She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. She was a graduate of Fort Loramie High School, retired from the Village of Minster, and the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. Phyllis loved cooking, playing cards golfing and socializing.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM Saturday, January 3, 2026 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. Burial will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery with full military honors.

Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 2 to 7 pm and Saturday from 8:30 to 9:00am.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation to the General Scholarship Fund at Minster High School and Mercer County Challenger Softball League.
