St. John demolished
Photo by Ryan Snyder/The Daily Standard

After standing tall for almost 200 years, the beloved and severely damaged St. John the Baptist Catholic Church was razed over the weekend. The church was almost entirely decimated in a massive fire on May 29. Strong wind gusts last weekend further damaged the church and took down its west wall. The controlled demolition was deemed necessary as a safety precaution.
