* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:40 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall slowly this afternoon, falling below flood stage later this evening. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Roger Niekamp
Roger R. Niekamp age 85 of St. Henry, Ohio, and of Winterhaven, Florida, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 5, 2026, at his Florida home. He was born on June 19, 1940, in St. Henry, to the late Roman & Alvira (Osterholt) Niekamp. On October 7, 1961, he married Patricia (Bruns) Niekamp. Roger and Pat were married for 45 years until her passing on January 5, 2007. Roger found love again and married his wife Rebecca "Becky" (Bruns) Niemeyer on September 4, 2009. Becky survives at their homes in St. Henry and Winter Haven, FL.
Roger is also survived by children: Lisa & Frank Urwin and Scott Niekamp, all of St. Henry and stepchildren Matthew & Janine Niemeyer, and Rachel Niemeyer-Diemel & Aaron Diemel, and grandchildren: Brittany Urwin-Hass & Michael Hass, Brianne Urwin, Kyler Niekamp, and Connor Niemeyer. Roger is also survived by in-laws: Mary Ellen Niekamp, Nancy Niekamp, Kenneth & Virginia Bruns, Bonita & Terry Neff, and Gary & Halinka Bruns.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Roger is preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Niekamp and Harold Niekamp.
Roger graduated from St. Henry High School and went on to serve his country for 8 years in the Army National Guard. Returning home he went to work at the former New Idea AGCO factory in Coldwater and was there for 53 years. Roger loved horses and was a member of the Ohio Western Horse Show Association and the Moonwalkers Camping Group. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like driving his big red pick-up truck, riding his horse, and making hay. Roger was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, and he enjoyed spending time with his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at St. Henry Catholic Church in St. Henry. Following the funeral mass, burial with full military honors will take place in the St. Henry Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 12, or from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 13, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
