* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Betty Nelson
Betty Jane Nelson, age 91, of St. Marys, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born on September 5, 1934, in St. Marys to the late Clinton and Pauline (Temple) Nelson. Betty was born at home and remained a lifelong resident of St. Marys, where she lived her entire life in the same home in which she was born - a place filled with a lifetime of memories. She was also the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Betty was a 1952 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School and a graduate of the St. Louis Music Academy. Music was a central part of her life, and she was blessed to spend her entire career as a self-employed piano teacher, sharing her passion and talent with generations of students.
She was a devoted member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in St. Marys and belonged to the Music Teachers Association.
She is survived by many loving cousins.
Private graveside services will be held at Green Lawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Marys Memorial Marching Band.
