Geneva Dues
Geneva M. Dues, age 105, of St. Henry, died on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born March 7, 1921, in Chickasaw, Ohio, to the late Joseph & Eleanore (Clune) Hein. On November 27, 1941, she married William H. "Bill" Dues Jr. Bill & Geneva were married for 36 years, until his passing on August 2, 1978.
Geneva is the last of her generation of her and Bill's families. She is survived by six nieces and nephews on the Hein side of the family, Darrell Hein, Phyllis Lewis, Ron Eyink, Pam Meyer, Michael Eyink, and Doug Hein, and numerous nieces and nephews from the Dues side of the family.
In addition to her parents and her husband Bill, Geneva is preceded in death by siblings and in-laws: Ernest & Clarina Hein, Alice & Dennis Eyink, Dennis & Alice Hein, Cyril & Kate Dues, Carl "Kite" & Katy Dues, Edgar & Mary Dues, Mark & Shirely Dues, Florence & Wayne Snider, Alice & Hollis Cromwell, Alma & Tom Osterfeld, and Elvira & Don Mueret, and her father and mother-in-law, William Sr. & Anna Dues.
Geneva grew up in Chickasaw and graduated high school. She worked for 40 years at the former Buckeye Overall Company in Coldwater. She was a long-time member of St. Henry Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Sodality at the church. Geneva was also a member of the St. Henry Legion Auxiliary as well as the Coldwater VFW Auxiliary. She was a dedicated volunteer and helped for many hours organize and sell at the Senior Citizens Garage Sale in Celina. She also loved to travel and had been to many different places all around the world. Geneva stayed active living at home by herself up until the last couple of years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, June 8, at St. Henry Catholic Church. Following the funeral mass burial will take place in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends and family may call from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 8, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
Those wishing to honor Geneva's memory may consider doing so by making a memorial contribution to the Mercer County Council on Aging.
