Paul Smith
Paul Allen Smith, age 64, of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, at his home.
He was born on August 17, 1961, in Coldwater, Ohio, to Eileen Evans of Greenville and the late Stanley Smith.
In addition to his mother, Paul is survived by his wife, Lynn (Sunderland) Smith, whom he married on June 13, 2014; his stepchildren, Karrie (Craig) Carey of Celina, Scott (Tabby) Jenkins of Celina, and Michelle Nix of Seattle, Washington; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sisters. Linda (Brian) Seals of Celina and Debbie Young of Greenville; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his father, Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Eleanor Smith and Belva Evans; his sister, Peggy Bullard; and his nephew, Shane Smith.
Paul was a 1979 graduate of Celina High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Throughout his life, he worked as a truck driver, assisted local farmers, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Known for his generous spirit and kind heart, Paul never hesitated to help family, friends, neighbors, or even strangers.
Paul had a deep love for animals, especially his cats, and cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. He found great joy in riding his motorcycle and caring for horses, often referring to them as his "babies." His compassion, hardworking nature, and willingness to help others will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
A funeral liturgy and military honors will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, with Deacon Roger Kaiser celebrating. A private family burial will follow at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Paul's family on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
