Bob Phipps
Bob L. Phipps, age 81 of Celina, passed at 1:29 p.m., at St. Rita's Mercy Health in the emergency department. He was born March 30, 1945 in Pineville, Bell County, Kentucky to the late Boyd Lee and Ethel Baker Phipps. On July 4, 2007 he married Tonita J. Webb Springer, who survives.
Bob was a graduate of Buckland High School and spent his career as a skilled machine repairman. He began his working years at Randall Bearings, where he dedicated 15 years of service. He later worked for approximately 12 years at Fisher Cheese before retiring from Goodyear.
Bob was a member of the Eagles Lodge #691 in Wapakoneta. He had a lifelong love for farming and found his greatest joy outdoors. Whether he was mowing, plowing snow, working on the farm, or driving his skid loader around, Bob was happiest when he was busy. He also had a special love for horses and spent years raising them.
Above all, Bob's greatest pride was his family. Together with his beloved wife, he opened his home and hearts to raise two of their great grandchildren, Isaiah and Megan, giving them a loving and supportive home. His devotion to his family was one of the defining qualities of his life.
Bob was a big man with an even bigger heart. Though he could be gruff on the outside, those who knew him best understood his kind, generous, and loving nature. He was well known for teasing and joking with family and friends, always finding ways to make people laugh or keep them on their toes. His sense of humor, loyal friendship, and willingness to lend a helping hand earned him many lifelong friends.
He is also survived by 2 sons - Greg (Stacy) Phipps of Wapakoneta; Jeff Phipps of Wapakoneta; 1 step son - Clinton (Cindy) Springer of Celina; 1 step daughter - Amanda (Patrik) Loveless of Cuyahoga Falls; 3 grandchildren - Amanda Osgood, Dustin (Dawn) Phipps, Erin (Joshua Edwards) Springer; 8 step grandchildren - Natasha Springer, Joseph (Kirsten Wietholter) Springer, Clinton Springer, Jr., Elijah White, Kimberly Loveless, Jennifer Bottorf, Christopher Bottorf, and Cheyenne (Cody) McKee; 19 great grandchildren with one on the way.
He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law - Lois F. and Ronnie Farley; his in-laws - Michael and Shirley Hoelscher; and 2 step granddaughters - Jessica Springer and Rachael Springer; and his former wife - Sandra Sue Presar Phipps.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2026 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. Terry Brock will officiate. Burial will follow in Buckland Cemetery.
