At 526 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Celina to 7 miles south of Kenton, moving east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 45 mph and very heavy rain.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Visibility will be poor and hydroplaning is possible.
Locations impacted include... Sidney, Bellefontaine, Celina, Wapakoneta, St. Marys, New Bremen, Minster, Richwood, West Liberty, Anna, Fort Loramie, Jackson Center, Russells Point, De Graff, Botkins, Lakeview, New Knoxville, Belle Center, West Mansfield, and Chippewa Park.
This includes I-75 in Ohio between mile markers 93 and 113.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a sturdy building.
Motorists should slow down and use extra caution.

Mercer County to roll out phone alert system

CELINA - Mercer County officials in the coming months plan to roll out a new alert system to warn people of critical situations.

And unlike the Mercer County Sheriff's Office's subscription-based Nixle alert system, the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System, when put into use, will send a notification to all cellphone users within the county, Mercer County Emergency Management Agency director Chad Willrath told The Daily Standard. There are a lot of similarities for 2026 Celina graduate Tanner Wendel when he takes the mound at Montgomery Field.

It is the mound that saw Wendel compile a 3-3 record with 49 strikeouts in 40 innings for the Bulldogs over the spring, which earned the righty a spot on the Western Buckeye League's first team. Now as member of the Grand Lake Mariners, he climbs the same hill at a different level. [More]
