Barbara Kay Reineke, 73, of St. Marys, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at her home in St. Marys surrounded by her family.

Barbara was born on October 25, 1952, in Lima, to the late Orley "Mike" William and Blanche Evelyn (Kundert) Schaffer. She grew up attending school in Spencerville and helping care for her mother. Once she was old enough to join the workforce, Barb took employment with Huffy Corporation in Celina and worked there over 20 years until the plant closed. On June 26, 1976, she married the love of her life, Rickie Alan Reineke. After getting married, they settled in St. Marys where they raised their two daughters.

When she was younger, Barb did a lot of motorcycle riding. With the custom trikes that Rickie and his brother built, they would load up the girls and go for many rides. She loved to sew, playing bingo, making candy, and baking cakes. Her pride and joy was her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them any chance she could.

Barb is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rickie; two daughters, Casey (Mitchel) Doty and Diana Reineke both of St. Marys; four grandchildren, Vidalia Anne, Tabitha Doty, Asher Doty, and Isabella Reineke; and two siblings, James Schaffer and Marilyn Schaffer. She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings; Lester Schaffer, Gloria Barnett, Connie Orchard, and a stillborn brother, David Wayne Schaffer.
