L. Mildred Smith
L. Mildred Smith, 93, died at 4 a.m. Jan. 20, 2007, at Otterbein Retirement Community, St. Marys, where she was a resident since 1997.
She was born March 7, 1913, in Carthage, Ind., to W. Merritt and Iola Jessup Stafford. On Aug. 15, 1943, she married Leonard R. Smith, who died in May 2002.
Survivors are two sons, David Leonard (Jane), Toledo, and William Philip (Sally), Lake Villa, Ill.; two grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.
Deceased is an infant son, James Lee.
She was a 1943 graduate of Fort Wayne Bible Institute, served two years as a missionary in Kentucky and 32 years as a pastor's wife.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Otterbein chapel, the Revs. Michael Westbay and Carol Sainey officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. today at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel.
