The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality. Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories. It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes. Lee Fischer
Lee H. Fischer, 79, Celina, died at 2:55 p.m. Feb. 27, 2011, at Briarwood Village Nursing Home in Coldwater.
He was born March 2, 1931, in Mercer County to Joe and Mildred Hamilton Fischer.
Surviving is a cousin, Joann (Vernon) Byer, Markle, Ind.
He graduated from Celina High School in 1949. He worked at The Daily Standard in Celina as a linotype operator until retiring in 1981.
Graveside funeral services were 11 a.m. today at North Grove Cemetery in Celina, the Rev. Richard Van Horn officiating.
Memorials may be made to the National Rifle Association or the Animal Protection League of Mercer County.
