Ruth Pendergraft
Ruth A. Pendergraft, 71, Wapakoneta, died at 10:26 a.m. March 6, 2011, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born Jan. 14, 1940, in St. Marys, to Francis and Nina Miller Rohrbach. In 1967, she married Thomas B. Pendergraft, who died March 21, 1981.
Surviving are six children, Shirley (Kent) Place, Wapakoneta, Sherry (Rob) Royster, Ansonia, Thomas Pendergraft, Fort Wayne, Ind., John (Denise) Pendergraft, Celina, Matthew (JoAnn) Pendergraft, St. Marys, and Susan (Brian) Mullenix, Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Marjorie Rohrbach, Wapakoneta; a brother, Gary Rohrbach, St. Marys; 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was a 1958 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School and a graduate of the Phoenix School of Nursing and Rhoades State College. She worked at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys as a surgical nurse and also was a licensed cosmetologist. She was a member of the Lima Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Funeral rites are 2 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys, the Rev. Kent Place officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
