David J. Stein
David J. Stein, 64, Coldwater, died March 2, 2012, at Dayton VA Medical Center, Dayton.
He was born March 11, 1947, to Robert Jr. and Helen Miller Stein.
Surviving are a son Bradley (Krista) Stein, Portland, Ind.; a daughter, Turee (Rick) Stewart, Portland; three sisters, Betty (Lester) Hemmelgarn, St. Henry, Kathy (Don) Hamilton, Coldwater, and Shirley Stein, Coldwater; a brother, Donald "Fred" (Theresa) Stein, Salamonia, Ind.; two sisters-in-law, Lola Stein, Celina, and Tara Stein, Portland; a brother-in-law, Steve Gibson, Celina; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Ronald Stein and Tom Stein; a sister, Jane Gibson; and his stepfather, Rudolph "Rudy" Wendel.
He was a 1965 graduate of Fort Recovery High School, served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was retired from North Star Blue Flame, North Star.
He was a past commander of the Fort Recovery American Legion and was also a member of Fort Recovery Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Services are 5 p.m. Wednesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Deacon John Parker officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Fort Recovery American Legion.
Calling is 1 p.m. until services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the VA Hospice Fund, Dayton.
