Paul Maltinsky
Paul R. Maltinsky, 92, formerly of Minster, died at 5:20 a.m. Sept. 8, 2012, at Elmwood of New Bremen.
He was born Oct. 3, 1919, in Wheeling, W.V., to Paul and Anna Stanek Malatinsky. On July 31, 1948, he married Ann M. Barhorst, who died Dec. 25, 2008.
Surviving are six children, Pam Maltinsky, Columbus, Anita (David) Uetrecht, Botkins, Lynn (Jeanne) Maltinsky, Williamsburg, Va., Greg (Joann) Maltinsky, Minster, Nathan (Chris) Maltinsky, Millis, Mass., and Christine (Jay) Purdy, Minster; a brother-in-law, Virgil Barhorst, Fort Loramie; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Also deceased are three brothers, Steve, John and Tony Malatinsky; three sisters, Agnes and Katherine Malatinsky and Mary Logomarcino; and a great-grandson.
He attended St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, where he sang in the Men's Choir. He graduated from Wheeling High School and The Ohio State University, where he played football, baseball and joined the Varsity O and ATO Fraternities. He taught more than 30 years at Minster schools and coached basketball and baseball. He belonged to the Minster Civic Association and owned Maltinsky's Men's Wear. He also was active at Arrowhead Golf Club.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Memorials may be given to the St. Augustine Men's Choir.
