CELINA - After three rounds of interviews, school officials have chosen a new superintendent.
School board members on Monday hired Jesse Steiner, the three-year superintendent at Hicksville Exempted Local Schools. Steiner signed a three-year contract with Celina, starting Oct. 22 and ending July 31, 2015. His salary will be $95,000 per year. [More]

ST. MARYS - Patrizio Martinez-Rodriguez's rebound goal 26 1/2 minutes into Monday's Western Buckeye League boys soccer match proved to be the game-winner as St. Marys defeated previously unbeaten Ottawa-Glandorf 1-0 at the Intermediate School.
The Roughriders are now 10-0-3 overall this season and 5-0-2 (17 points) in WBL play. The Titans, ranked sixth in the most recent Division II state poll, drops to 11-1-0 (6-1-0 WBL) but they maintain their lead in the league standings with 18 points. [More]

State waiting on audit report of entity's finances
CELINA - The Ohio Department of Development is waiting on a regularly scheduled audit of Sources later this month to learn more about the anti-poverty organization that is in the midst of an internal investigation.
CELINA - A Sources coordinator has resigned "under duress," marking the latest twist in the continuing imbroglio at the anti-poverty organization being run in part by an outside agency after its executive director was placed on unpaid administrative leave.
