Robert Evans
Robert Evans, 85, Celina, died Sept. 28, 2012, at the residence of his niece and nephew.
He was born Feb. 27, 1927, in Wellston, to Robert W. and Catherine Durkin Evans. He married Alice Castles, who died.
Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Connie (Michael) Evans, St. Marys, and Beck (Bill) Gossett, Columbia, S.C., and a brother-in-law, Ashford (Becky) Castles, Winnsboro, S.C.
Also deceased are two siblings, Thomas W. Evans and Ruth Ann Connell.
He served in the Navy during World War II and later worked for five years at Spandau Prison, Berlin, Germany, during which time he guarded Hitler's henchmen. He also worked for the federal prison system for 25 years.
He donated his body to science.
There is no calling.
