Gertrude Ripploh
Gertrude E. Ripploh, 90, Minster, died at 8:10 p.m. Oct. 3, 2012, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
She was born Sept. 20, 1922, in Colifax, Ill., to Richard and Stella Fitzpatrick Kelley. She married her first husband Rex Deidrich in 1943, and he died in 1958. On Jan. 2, 1961, she married William A. Ripploh, who died Jan. 7, 2011.
Surviving are eight children, Jeri Howard, Wapakoneta, Christine Diedrich, St. Marys, Joanne (Eugene) Schoenlein, Wapakoneta, Jane (Clyde) Miller, Minster, Carol Diedrich, Minster, Lois (Robert) Dietz, Botkins, Paula (Mike) McGown, Minster, and Ted (Jennifer) Ripploh, Minster; two sisters, Ruth Finke, St. Marys, and Betty Ann (Jim) Sampson, St. Marys; a daughter-in-law, Anna Diedrich, Celina; 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
Also deceased are a son, James Diedrich; a son-in-law, Michael Howard; siblings Lucille Bailey, Bernard Kelley, Bernie Isenberger, Richard Kelley and Frank Kelley; and a grandchild.
She belonged to St. Augustine Catholic Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 1391 and the American Legion, all of Minster. She also served as an officer for the Lake Loramie Improvement Association and retired from Goodyear after 30 years.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery.
