Suzanne Marion
Suzanne L. Marion, 75, North Huntington, Pa., and formerly of Celina, passed away at 2:15 a.m. April 16, 2013, at Briarcliff Pavilion, North Huntington, Pa.
She was born April 9, 1938, in Celina, to George and Jane Riley Smalley, who are deceased.
Suzanne is survived by her son, John R. Marion, Pittsburgh, Pa.; her brother and sister-in-law, George D. and Linda Smalley of Florida; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Myra and Ron Mutzelburg, Alexandria, Va., and Julie Bechant, Naples, Fla.; her friend, Eric Gustavson, The Villages, Fla.; a special niece, Michele M. and Mike Maloney, Dayton; and several other nieces and nephews.
Also deceased is a grandmother, Eulalie Riley.
Suzanne graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic High School in 1956 and received her elementary education degree from Mount St. Joseph College, Cincinnati. She was a K-6 teacher in Ohio, Indiana and Louisiana until she retired.
Suzanne was a lady with lots of style, class, elegance and loving care. She was the historian of the family (she knew everyone and everything about them). She was a devoted and caring teacher her entire life, she treated every student as if they were her own child and made each feel the "sky was the limit." Anyone she came in contact with became an instant friend and would listen and talk to her for hours. She was very outgoing and always on the go, loved to shop (the countless designer shoes and clothes filled to the top of the closet). During her retirement years, she enjoyed golfing, going to the casino or watching the horse races, but more than anything she enjoyed dancing the night away on the square. She never missed out on an opportunity or invitation to relish a "gin and tonic, glass of wine or her favorite Bloody Mary." She would argue with the best but cared so much like the rest.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Monday at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina, the Rev. Ken Alt officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the IC Church or Dementia Care Foundation, 69531 213th St., Darwin, Minn.
Condolences may be left at LHDfuneralhome.com.
