Very strong wind gusts and dry soil is leading to areas of blowing dust across the area. This is causing visibility to be reduced to one mile or less in localized area.
Motorists should be prepared for rapidly changing visibility. Slow down and leave plenty of distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.
As winds slowly decrease late this afternoon into the evening, blowing dust should diminish.

Louis Ross
Louis G. Ross, 80, Ohio City, died Dec. 16, 2013, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
He was born July 14, 1933, in Mercer County, to Paul T. and Kathryn Hirn Ross, who preceded him in death. He married Linda L. Ellis July 24, 1980, and she died Dec. 5, 2010.
Survivors include two sons, Matthew (Jessica) Ross, Celina, and Kevin T. (Kaye) Ross, Rockford; two daughters, Angel (Junior) Schmidt, Decatur, Ind., and Julie (Brian) Potter, Plymouth, Mich.; stepchildren, Sharon Sutter, Florida; Olen (Patty) Brandon, Georgia; Mary Jean Brandon, Celina; Kathy Miracle, Rockford, and Jon Brandon, Rockford; a sister, Phyllis (Jerry) Now, Rockford; 13 grandchildren; 18 stepgrandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Kim Schmidt.
He had been a tool & die maker and was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chattanooga United Methodist Church.
