School board gives OK to boosters

MINSTER - Upgrades to the school's baseball and softball fields likely will be pursued and financed by the athletic boosters and recreation committee, with help from village officials.
The athletic boosters, recreation committee and village officials can move forward with the plans after Minster Local Schools Board of Education members on Monday night gave their verbal approval. [More]

FORT RECOVERY - Mayor Roger Broerman on Monday night let a couple know that village officials have their mind set on annexing the family's property.
Also, village council members at their regular meeting learned the park board had commended lifeguard Hallory Leuthold for lifesaving actions over the summer. [More]

ST. MARYS - A former area optometrist convicted of sexual imposition is challenging a local court's dismissal of his 2012 petition for post-conviction relief (appeal) based on an untimely filing.
ST. MARYS - City officials are considering improving a sewer line and purchasing a recycling collection truck and hoppers.
The city finance committee met Monday to discuss supplemental purchases for 1,300 feet of replacement sewer line and a recycling collection truck with 10 hoppers.
The unemployment rate in Mercer County fell more than a half percent in August to 2.7 percent, according to data released today by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
