Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the Tri-State region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Robert Pond
Robert "Bob" N. Pond, 92, of Celina, OH, passed away at the Miller Place, Celina, on February 14, 2016 at 3:45 am.
He was born on June 24, 1923 in Celina, to Francis N. and Esther (Gray) Pond, both preceded him in death. He married Betty J. Roop on January 22, 1949, she preceded him in death on May 1, 2014.
Survivors include a half-sister, Cheryl Benson, Huber Heights, OH; a half-brother, Howard Pond, OH; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sue (Dee) Byerly, Wabash, IN; a brother-in-law, Bruce Baughn, Angola, IN; numerous nieces and nephews; his many friends especially "The Morning Gang" who were always there for him and his friends at Miller Place.
He is also preceded in death by a sister, June Albaugh.
Bob was a 1941 graduate of Celina Senior High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the WWII era; where he specialized as a Morse code operator, in Africa, Italy, Corsica and Austria. He owned and operated Baker Electric Motor Service in Celina.
He was a member of Van Wert Amateur Radio Club, Reservoir Amateur Radio Club, Celina American Legion Post 210, and a charter member of Celina VFW Post 5713.
Graveside services will begin at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Swamp College Cemetery, with Rev. Matt Overman officiating; where military honors will be provided by the Celina American Legion Post 210 and Celina VFW Post 5713.
Contributions can be made to State of the Heart Hospice and/or Miller Place, Celina.
