Roger Burrows
Roger W. Burrows, age 67, of Celina passed away at 12:30 am on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
He was born September 18, 1949, in Cleveland to Carl and Elizabeth (Cale) Burrows and on February 20, 1971 he married Thelma (Harris) Burrows, who survives in Celina.
He is survived by his children: Chris & Stephanie (Baird) Burrows of Fort Recovery, Tim & Brenda (Beyke) Burrows of Coldwater, and Becky & Jack Winans of Findlay; 14 grandchildren: Corey, Kial (Keri), Krista, Carla, TJ, Brianne, Hailey, Jenny, & Logan Burrows, Skott (Gabby) & Ayren Burrows, and Jared, Evan, & Natalie Winans; 4 great grandchildren: Sebastian, Exavier, Kolten, & Tzarah; and two sisters: Debi Ochoa, California & Sherry (Harry) Taras, Arizona.
Roger is a 1968 graduate of Brunswick High School and went on to graduate from The Ohio State University where he played tight-end, wearing the #92 jersey, on the football team, coached by Woody Hayes.
He worked at Huffy Bicycles in Celina for 25 years and later retired from Koneta Rubber in Wapakoneta.
Roger attended Bethany United Methodist Church, enjoyed fantasy football & baseball leagues, OSU football, Cleveland Indians baseball, Cleveland Browns football, coaching youth sports when his children were younger, and most importantly spending time with his family.
Visitation hours will be from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am on Wednesday morning at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Jonathan Exman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery in Celina with military honors by Celina VFW Post #5713 and Celina American Legion Post #210.
Memorial contributions can be made to Bethany United Methodist Church.
