Rita Schroer
Rita L. Schroer, 91, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died on February 27, 2018, at The Gardens at St. Henry, St. Henry, Ohio.
She was born November 12, 1926, in St. Henry, to the late Louis and Anna (Selhorst) Lange. On September 27, 1947, she married Paul J. "Joe" Schroer, who died February 20, 2007.
Surviving are her children, Michael (Cheryl) Schroer of Laceys Spring, AL, Judy (Tom) Lefeld of St. Henry, Suzanne (Steve) Turner of Kettering, OH, Bob (Karen) Schroer of Fort Recovery, Bonnie (Chet) Rhoades of Sarasota, FL, Joan (Ted) Stachler of St. Henry, Sharon (Bruce) Scott of Fort Recovery, Marjorie Schroer of Plano, TX, Dave (Theresa) Schroer of Fort Recovery; 24 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; siblings, Leroy Lange of St. Henry, Frances Gehret of Fort Loramie, OH, Cletus (Edna) Lange of St. Henry, Louis (Martha) Lange of Wapakoneta, OH; and a sister-in-law, Marcella Lange of Celina, OH.
Preceding her in death are her infant daughter, Mary Alice Schroer; a granddaughter, Lisa; siblings, Marie (Albert) Pottkotter, Elmer Lange, Cleopha (Ralph) Strete, Wilma (Sylvester) Dues, Sr. Agnes Lange, Cyrillus (Margaret) Lange, and Eugene Lange; a sister-in-law; Eileen Lange, a brother-in-law, Lawrence Gehret; and in-laws, Maurice (Irma) Schroer.
Rita retired as a cook for Fort Recovery Schools. She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery and the church's Altar Rosary Sodality. Rita enjoyed working with her hands, quilting, sewing and cooking. She also liked to read and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, Fr. Ned Brown officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 3:00 pm-8:00 pm Friday and 8:30 am-9:30 am Saturday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
