A band of snow showers will drop into the region from northern Indiana, and push through the region through the afternoon. Some snow showers could produce a quick light coating of snow on elevated surfaces and bridges. Visibility may also be briefly reduced to a half mile or even less. Northwest winds will also gust up to 30 MPH. Lighter snowfall will continue into the evening behind the initial band of snow showers, with accumulations from a few tenths to isolated accumulations of up to an inch. Motorists should exercise caution and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.

Celina fire and police personnel responded Tuesday after a tree split and fell onto power lines at 708 Murlin Ave., cutting electricity in the neighborhood during a brief but violent storm that passed through the area.
