Lavern Pohl
Lavern F. Pohl age 93 of Osgood, Ohio died at 12:30 AM on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at The Gardens of St. Henry, Ohio.
He was born on May 8, 1928 in Burkettsville, Ohio to the late Leo & Pauline (Rammel) Pohl. He married Rita Dapore on November 27, 1952 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Newport, Ohio and she preceded him in death on July 28, 2017.
He is survived by children: David & Kathleen Pohl, St. Louis, MO, Michael & Dana Pohl, Centerville, Diane & Jerome Schwieterman, Chickasaw, Jeffrey & Lora Pohl, Chickasaw, nine grandchildren: Megan and Lindsey Pohl, Jennifer Gaerke, Jay, Lee, and Greg Schwieterman, Molly Kindle, Natalie and Benjamin Pohl, and 13 great grandchildren, brothers & sisters: Eileen Stelzer, Coldwater, Carl & Mary Ann Pohl, Maria Stein, Leroy Pohl, West Chester, Denis Pohl Greenville, Larry & Jessie Pohl, Alpharetta GA, Nancy & Jerome Meyer, Dublin, in-laws: Arlene Pohl, Versailles, Kay Dapore, Versailles.
He was preceded in death by grandson Jack, brother Roger Pohl, in-laws: Alberta Pohl, Bob Stelzer, Paul Dapore, Michael Dapore, Mary Ann & Frank Arling.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood, the Men's Sodality and a church lector for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the Korea War and a member of the Osgood American Legion where he was a past commander and a member of the firing squad. He was past president of the Marion Local PTO and a past village councilman for the Village of Osgood.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood. Burial with full military honors will take place in St. Martin Cemetery Osgood.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 4 to 7 PM on Monday, January 17, 2022 and from 9 to 10 AM on Tuesday.
