Nettie Blake
Nettie A. Blake, age 83 of Celina Ohio passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Gardens at Celina.
She was born on April 30, 1940 in Orford, New Hampshire to the late William and Dorothy (Baker) Pierson. On January 23, 1960 she married Nathan Blake, who died in 2013.
She is survived by her children; Dave (Deb) Blake of Celina, Suzy Blake of El Paso, TX, Jean Blake of Coldwater, Chris (Delanya) Blake of Sidney, two grandchildren; Andy (Amber) Blake of Celina, Lilleigh New of El Paso, TX, four great grandchildren Keaton, Braxtyn, Harlow and Monroe Blake all of Celina and her sister Kippy (Dave) Gordon of Coldwater. Her sisters-in-law; Lucille (Robert) Palifka of Orford, N. H., Kathy Sanborn of Orford, N.H., Beth (John) Miller of Orford, N.H., Janice (Mike) Grady of Orford, N.H., June Blake of Akworth, N.H. and Judy Pierson of Lakeland, FL, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Nettie was preceded in death by her parents William and Dorothy (Baker) Pierson, father and mother-in-law Everett and Flora (Sanborn) Blake, her brother William "Bill" Pierson, brothers-in-law Michael Blake and Pete Sanborn and her grandson Kyle Blake.
She was a 1958 graduate of Orford High School in Orford, New Hampshire. Nettie, Nathan & their oldest son moved to Coldwater in 1963. Where Nettie would babysit her nieces and nephews and a few other children. She also enjoyed selling Avon products, working at Hardee's and Burger King until she retired in 2008. She taught Sunday School, Jr. Church, Vacation Bible School and was very involved with the Ladies Group at the Beaver Chapel Church in Celina, and with her Church Family. She enjoyed going back home to New Hampshire to visit with family and friends. She loved to travel, taking long weekend trips with her family, and her husband Nathan. They would go out west to visit their granddaughter and she really appreciated the scenic countryside during their travels. Nettie was a very loving and proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home, with Rev. Dave Gordon officiating. She will be buried at a later date in the West Cemetery in Orford, New Hampshire.
A Memorial Gathering for friends and family will be held from 4:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 and an hour before services at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home.
