An Arctic front will sweep east across the region between 5 AM and 9 AM. A few hours of snow showers and west wind gusts of 35 to 40 mph will occur with the frontal passage. While any accumulations will generally be a half inch or less, some challenging travel conditions may develop given, rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities, strong wind and cold temperatures. These conditions will impact the morning commute. Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

Larry Marchal
Larry Marchal, age 72, a resident of rural Portland, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020, at Celina Manor Nursing Home in Celina, Ohio.
Larry was born on August 1, 1947, in Celina, Ohio, the son of Odus and Esther (Braun) Marchal. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam with the 9th Infantry Division. Larry farmed in Jay County for several years and worked for the Jay County Highway Department. He also worked for Wallisheck Excavating, Klingshirn and Sons Trucking. He was a member of Fort Recovery Catholic Church in Fort Recovery, Ohio, Fort Recovery VFW, the Fort Recovery American Legion, and Salamonia Volunteer Fire Department.
Larry married Winifred Beals on April 16, 1977.
Survivors include his wife Winifred Marchal - Celina, Ohio; two sisters: Mary Ann Mangen (partner Chris) - Amhurst, Wisconsin; Theresa Baucher (husband Mike) - Celina, Ohio; one brother: Mike Marchal (wife Dee) - Portland, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Thomas and Donald Marchal.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Fort Recovery, Ohio, with visitation from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home in Portland. Burial will follow at Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Ind.
