Wendel leads Cavaliers past Ross' Cardinals in MAC play

NEW BREMEN - With two of the Midwest Athletic Conference's top softball pitchers facing each other, the game came down to whichever team could get a run first.
Coldwater did that, scoring a run in the top of the first off New Bremen ace Alayna Ross. That was more than enough for the Cavaliers' Madison Wendel, who scattered three hits in getting a 2-0 win over the Cardinals in conference action on Saturday morning. [More]

CELINA - April rains have about made up for the lack of precipitation this winter, said an Ohio State University ag expert.
Ryan McMichael, Ohio State University extension educator for Mercer County, said the Celina area has received 73/4 inches of rain so far this April.
ST. HENRY - A barn and farm equipment were destroyed by a stubborn fire Sunday afternoon near St. Henry.
According to St. Henry fire department chief Shawn McCoy, the department was called at 4:12 p.m. to 3510 Lange Road for a fully-involved barn fire. The property is owned by Mark Evers.
