Mary Jean Hall
Mary Jean Hall passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, at 7:03 am at Vancrest of St. Marys. The Lord blessed her with wings so she could once again be with her husband and best friend, Bob Hall, who passed away in September 2023 after 73 years of marriage.
She preferred to be called Jean but would answer to Mary if she had to.
Jean was born on May 11, 1930, to Elkaner and Emma Lou Frazier in Martin, Kentucky. She was one of nine brothers and sisters and the youngest daughter. Jean graduated from Martin High School in 1949 and had already met her future husband. Although it didn't make Jean's dad happy about losing his youngest daughter to another man, Jean and Bob were married on January 14, 1950, after Bob returned from his service in the Air Force. They moved to St. Marys, Ohio, where Bob started working for Goodyear In 1952, their first son, Steven, was born, followed by their second son, David, in 1955. Raising her sons and keeping a warm, clean, and welcoming home were priorities to Jean.
Her faith was very important to Jean. She and Bob became active and devout members of the Montezuma Church of Christ until its closing. Many lifetime friends were made from that fellowship.
During her sons' school years, Jean and Bob could be found running the concession stands and supporting the St. Marys Baseball Association through many years of active membership. After both sons graduated from high school and college, Jean and Bob began traveling, often with a brother or sister and their spouse. Branson, Missouri, and the area around Englewood, Florida, became favorite repeat vacation sites. Later in life, Jean found more time for herself and loved to read. Her daughter-in-law, Debbie, would often supply her with books. She was especially fond of reading the Bible and was very proud of the fact that she had read it from beginning to end more than once.
Jean was a kind, loving woman, and her family was everything to her. She was a private person, but a very good listener. Always, it was the two of them together as one - best friends, husband and wife. Now, it will be that way again - forever. We love you, Mom, and will miss you so much; but we know where your heart needs to be.
Surviving Jean are her two sons: Steven (Marilyn) Hall of St. Marys, Ohio, and David (Debbie) Hall of Perrysburg, Ohio. She is also survived by her four grandchildren and their spouses: Scott (Jessica) Hall, Matt (Andrea) Hall, Jeff (Bobbie) Hall, and Mandi (Gene) Eddy, as well as by 10 great-grandchildren. Jean has been blessed with the love and friendship of her one surviving sister-in-law, Ada Moran, of Vancrest of St. Marys, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jean in death was her husband of 73 years, Bob Hall; her parents, Elkaner and Emma Lou Frazier; her brothers Norval, E.K., Russell, and Dale; and sisters, Bethel Liles, Clara, Louise Sparks, and Ruby.
We extend our thanks to every single nurse and aide from both Everheart Hospice and Vancrest of St. Marys who attended to our mom. You all gave her so much of your time and took such good care of her as you, also did for our dad. Special thank yous to Jaime of Everheart - our mom loved everything you did for her. Sometimes, we even wondered if she would notice if we were not there as long as Jaime was!
Thank you to all of the housekeeping and laundry staff for keeping her room clean and all supplies stocked. Most importantly, we thank you for answering ALL of our questions and concerns and for making us feel that she was being taken care of 100%. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Everheart Hospice.
Funeral rites will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road , St Marys. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
