Catherine Bruggeman
Catherine "Katie" (Kahlig) Bruggeman, age 93 of Coldwater, passed away June 7, 2025 at The Gardens of St. Henry. She was born on April 18, 1932 in Coldwater to the late Charles & Bernadine (Post) Kahlig. On July 10, 1954 in Coldwater, she married Leroy Bruggeman and he preceded her in death in 2000.
She is survived by her children, Ann & Chuck Severt of Buford, Georgia, Marie & Buck Stahl of St. Henry, Tom & Kathryn Bruggeman of St. Marys, Ruth & Fred Borgerding of New Weston, Paul & Jane Bruggeman of Coldwater, Carl & Penny Bruggeman of Coldwater, Kathy & Tom Bierley of Perrysburg, Steve & Dana Bruggeman of Dublin, and Julie Hoover of Tiffin, 25 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings and in-laws, George Kahlig, Margaret Klosterman, Dolores Kahlig, Rosemary Prenger, Janet Muhlenkamp, Margie Buschur, Marlene Calhoun.
She was preceded in death by siblings and in-laws, Raymond, Irene & Ruth Kahlig, Ralph & Dorothy Kahlig, Gregor & Edna Kahlig, Irene & Howard Huwer, Mary & Bernard Siefring, Ed Kahlig, Evelyn Kahlig, Mark Klosterman, Evelyn & Herb Sutter, Ernie Muhlenkamp, Art Prenger, Bernice Bruggeman, Lavern & Ginny Bruggeman and Rich Buschur.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She loved bowling, flower gardening, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and animals. Katie also enjoyed traveling around the world.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers, Cathy Bruns, Elaine Depweg, and Sue Hurles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, June 12 from 2 PM until 8 PM and on Friday from 9 AM to 10 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice or Clover Coffee Dublin for special needs individuals.. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com
