Douglas Laux
Douglas A. Laux, of Coldwater, died Sunday, September 21, 2025 at his home in Coldwater. He was born January 20, 1983 in Coldwater to Jerry & Kathy (Evers) Laux.
He is survived by brother, Ryan & Joan (Wirig) Laux of Elmhurst, Illinois. He is also survived by nieces and nephew, Macy, Cole, and Willa Laux.
Douglas was a graduate of Indiana University, majoring in Political Science, Business and Japanese. After graduation, he joined the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States. Proudly serving multiple tours in Afghanistan and the Middle East. Douglas spoke five different languages and authored a New York Times best selling book titled "Left of Boom."
From there, he became an Executive Producer and starred in several television series. He spoke in many podcasts held throughout the country. Douglas also won awards at the Pasadena International Film Festival and Silicon Valley Film Festival.
He was currently authoring his next book. Douglas was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, Eagles, Elks, and last but not least, Knights of Malta. Doug was a proud supporter of the Thanks to the Yanks group of Coldwater.
Funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Thursday, October 2, 2025, with visitation from noon until time of service at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
