The Western Buckeye League Boys Basketball Player of the Year award will remain in the Bertke family with brothers sharing the honor.
Shawnee's Beckett and Trevick Bertke were named the league's Players of the Year after helping the Indians win an outright league championship this season. The brothers are the sons of former Marion Local standout and current Shawnee assistant coach Nick Bertke.
For senior Beckett Bertke, it's his second straight award after winning it outright last season with junior Trevick earning his first.
Beckett Bertke, who will play next season at the University of Findlay, led the Indians with 20.7 points, 9.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. Trevick Bertke adds 18.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
Celina's Gavin Wicker was a second team selection. Earning honorable mention honors were Celina's Caleb Schlater and St. Marys' Blake Dingledine.
Shawnee coach Mark Triplett receives the Coach of the Year award that goes to the coach of the conference champion.
Ottawa-Glandorf senior Karsyn Erford earned her second straight WBL Girls Basketball Player of the Year, helping the Titans finish the regular season 22-0 and 9-0 for the program's fifth straight title and fourth consecutive outright title. The Titans have not lost a league game since the 2021-22 season.
Erford, who will play next season at Findlay, averages 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game for the Titans.
Celina's Rachel Rammel and St. Marys' Sophia Menker earned first team honors.Celina's Brenna Korte and St. Marys' Audrey Reineke were named to the third team with honorable mention honors going to Celina's Brooke Bacuher and St. Marys' Claire Turner.
Ottawa-Glandorf coach Troy Yant earns Coach of the Year honors.
