* IMPACTS...Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. Patchy slick spots could develop on elevated roadways where temperatures drop below freezing.

Betty Hoover
Betty L. Hoover, 80, 300 state Route 119, Fort Recovery, died at 10:55 a.m. Aug. 20, 2006, at her residence.
She was born March 23, 1926, in Greenville, to Granville and Bertha Rheinhardt Martin. She married Robert Bias, who is deceased. Her second marriage was to Raymond McQuire, who is also deceased. On May 8, 1972, she married John Hoover, who died May 8, 1996.
Survivors are three sons, Terry (Sheila) and Ronnie Bias, all of Fort Recovery, and Jerry Bias, Portland, Ind.; two daughters, Cheryl (Nick) Minnich, Geneva, Ind., and Sandy (Tom) Rammel, Coldwater; a stepdaughter, Mary Hoover, Brevard, N.C.; a brother, Carl (Jean) Martin, Farmland, Ind.; two sisters, Joan (Dennis) Franck, Portland, Ind., and Donna (Keith) Stump, Union City, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased is one grandson.
She was employed as a telephone operator at the former United Telephone Company, Portland, Ind.; worked as a self-employed telephone cable splicer, was employed at the Stirrup Factory and was owner-operator of the former Betty's Tanning Salon, both of Fort Recovery.
She was past president and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6515 Auxiliary and American Legion Post 345 Auxiliary, both of Fort Recovery; Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and Red Hat Society, both of Portland, Ind.; member of Rosie the Rivetor from the World War II Era and Fort Recovery United Methodist Church; and was a volunteer at State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Robert Dungan officiating. Burial is at Springhill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
