John Tonkin
John Tonkin, 59, 3505 state route 703, Celina, died Sept. 1, 2006, at his residence. Death was due to an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. See story page 3A.
He was born Oct. 16, 1946, in Sidney, to LeRoy and Faye Galbereth Tonkin. On June 9, 1972, he married Carol Heckler, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John, Mason, and Sean, Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Sherry (Dave) Young, Sidney; and eight grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, Jeffrey.
He worked at Reynolds and Reynolds, Celina and was a softball coach. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and a member of American Legion Post 210, Celina.
Graveside services are 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
Arrangements are by Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
