The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Vernon Heidt
Vernon Heidt, 86, 12246 Glynwood-New Knoxville Road, New Knoxville, died at 5:07 p.m. Sept. 24, 2006, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born Nov. 19, 1919, in St. Marys, to Henry and Lydia Schrolucke Heidt. On May 8, 1940, he married Madella Jung, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Orrville (Bonnie), New Knoxville; a daughter, Doris (Wayne) Heindel, Rockford; two brothers, Kermit (Virginia), Lima, and Don (Carol), New Knoxville; a sister, Grace Klopfenstein, New Bremen; a sister-in-law, Dot, St. Marys; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, David; a brother, Melvin; an infant sister, Marion; and two grandsons.
He was a farmer and attended Poppe School. He was a member of American Landrace Association, Ohio State Swine Hall of Fame and First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, where he was an elder.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Heritage Room of the church.
Contributions can be sent to the Radio Broadcast Fund of the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home, New Knoxville.
