The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Frances Milthaler
Frances "Fran" M. Milthaler, 63, of Portland, Ind., died Sept. 10, 2006, following a car accident near Paoli, Ind.
She was born April 16, 1942, in Conneaut, to John and Louise Wood Tyler. On Sept. 27, 1965, she married Harold Milthaler, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Greg (Norma), Portland; a daughter, Mariah (Shanon) Odman, Roann, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Sharon Downey, Halifax, Mass.; two sisters, Jane (Dave) Smead, Crossville, Tenn., and Jean (Ed) Hord, Pineville, N.C.; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
She was treasurer of Jay County, serving her first term. She had been employed by Inman Insurance, Jay County Hospital and Preferred Family Physicians and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Portland. She graduated in 1961 from Conneaut High School and attended Defiance College.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Richard Secor officiating.
No public visitation will be held.
Contributions can be made to the Portland Foundation.
Arrangements are being handled by Williamson & Spencer Funeral Homes Inc., Portland.
