Donation of $100,000 brings fund over goal

Wright State University-Lake Campus has achieved its goal of raising $4 million for a forthcoming renovation and construction project.
Campus officials this morning announced that Jack Schenking of Coldwater presented the university with a $100,000 check in memory of his first wife, Kathy. [More]

The new 567 area code has finally come to town.
Grand Lake area residents now may get the new area code, in place of 419, when signing up for a new cell phone or land line.
A recent survey of 619 Mercer County residents revealed almost two-thirds of respondents believe sexual activity of teens and teen pregnancy is a problem in their communities.
An agreement between Obringer Wheel Company, the intended purchaser of the firm's equipment and Mercer County, which holds the only remaining lien on the equipment, is expected to be signed in a day or two.
COLDWATER - After having several games where wins were within grasp, but continued to come up short, Celina traveled to the Palace in Coldwater for the annual battle of Mercer County teams looking to get over the hump.

St. Henry recovered nicely from its triple-overtime loss to Coldwater on Friday, shooting 56 percent from the field to beat Ansonia, 61-39, in Darke County on Saturday night.
