The Flash Flood Watch continues for * Portions of East Central Indiana and Ohio, including the following areas, in East Central Indiana, Fayette IN, Union IN, and Wayne. In Ohio, Auglaize, Champaign, Darke, Delaware, Hardin, Logan, Mercer, Miami, Preble, Shelby, and Union OH. * Through Tuesday afternoon * With the ground already saturated, additional rounds of showers and embedded thunderstorms tonight through Tuesday could result in new instances of flash flooding. Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches will be possible in the heaviest and most persistent storm activity. This may result in flash flooding with lighter rainfall amounts than would otherwise be expected.

Damaged wheat acres likely to go to corn; but check with FSA first

Some of the county's wheat has been damaged due to late and less than ideal planting conditions last fall, torrential rains in February and freezing weather in recent weeks.
Though the problem is not widespread, it likely will cause some farmers to tear up their wheat fields and plant corn, especially in light of the high market prices for corn right now. [More]

A never-say-die effort helped the Celina baseball team win its third straight game as the Bulldogs rallied from two runs down in the bottom of the seventh for a 4-3 victory over Coldwater in a matchup of Mercer County squads.
Celina senior Eric Loughridge hustled out an infield single, just beating the throw to first base, allowing Nick Gray to score the winning run as the Bulldogs improved to 5-7 on the season. [More]
