Matt VanTilburg stands behind a towering pile of chicken and turkey manure at VanTilburg Farms Inc., north of Celina. The family grain farming operation switched from using commercial fertilizer to using poultry manure to save money on fertilizer costs. The VanTilburgs also began brokering poultry manure about six years ago, a service for farmers needing to get rid of it and for those who want it for their crops.
