An 11,000-pound steel cross, which was erected on the grounds of the Spiritual Center of Maria Stein on Tuesday. The cost of the landmark structure and its placement on a small island pond along the driveway to the center was donated by center board members and area businessmen. The new, 50-foot tall structure is expected to be a well-visited spot this weekend during the Maria Stein Country Fest.
