The aroma of chili wafted across the Mercer County Fairgrounds on Saturday for the second Mercer County Chili Festival. Twenty-two-month-old Sutton Andrews of Celina and 15-month-old Sienna Rodriguez, also of Celina, take advantage of the opportunity to meet scarecrows entered in a Girl Scout competition. Leisa Pearson garnered first-place honors in the chili cookoff with Randy Piper and Dana and Rhonda Runnion finishing second and third, respectively. The contest drew six entries.
