Victor Hess
Victor L. Hess, 82, 213 Hillcrest Drive, Coldwater, died at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 17, 2008, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born April 3, 1925, in Carthagena, to Henry and Margaret Hoelscher Hess. On Aug. 11, 1948, he married Mary C. Tumbusch, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Gary (Sue) and Roger (Kim), all of Coldwater; two daughters, June (Bill) Brandewie, Versailles, and Deb (Dan) Faller, Fort Recovery; a sister Rita (Ben) Hoying, Montezuma; three sisters-in-law, Adella and Addie, both of St. Henry, and Eleanor, Coldwater; and 10 grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Urban, Jerry and Art; a sister, Magdelena, and two sisters and their husbands, Bertha and Ernie Beckstedt and Monica and Gregor Grevenkamp.
He retired from the former New Idea plant in Coldwater and was past president of the New Idea Credit Union. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and its Men's Holy Name Society, Knights of St. John, Maria Stein, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Daniel Schmitmeyer officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
