Zella Schmidt
Zella E. Schmidt, 96, formerly of 10 W. Second St., New Bremen, died at 9:05 p.m. April 16, 2008, at Auglaize Acres, Wapakoneta.
She was born Nov. 26, 1911, in Auglaize County, to Adolph William and Caroline Henschen Clausing. On April 4, 1934, she married Harold F. Schmidt, who died Jan. 11, 1973.
Surviving are four daughters, Lois (Willis) Metz, Jackson Center, Carolyn (Kenneth) Dicke, New Bremen, Joann (Ralph) Shroyer, Anna, and Sandra (Dale) Kremer, Oak Harbor; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are an infant son; three brothers, Ferd, Albert and Leonard Clausing; and a sister, Olga Paul.
She was a homemaker and member of First United Church of Christ and its Women's Guild of New Knoxville.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. David A. Williams officiating. Burial is at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Friday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
