Helen G. Bailey Steiger, 96, of Worthington Assisted Care Center, Lima, died at 6:10 p.m. April 5, 2008.
She was born Sept. 14, 1911, in Greenville, to Trace L. and Icy Pearl Strader Bailey. On June 9, 1935 she married Howard S. Steiger, who died June 13, 1995.
Surviving are three sons, Keith, Dallas, Texas, Neil, Shaker Heights, and Philip (Karen), Worthington; a brother, Lloyd W. (Doris) Bailey, Lake Forest Park, Wash., a sister-in-law Carolyn Steiger, Lima; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother Levi S. Bailey; and three sisters, Ethel Hosbrook, Mary Goodwin and Bertha Pummel.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Spencerville United Church of Christ where she had been a Sunday school teacher. She was a Celina High School graduate and a member of the Busy Mothers Ohio Child Conservation League, where she served as state secretary of the league.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, the Rev. Ronald L. Shifley officiating. Burial is at Spencerville Cemetery.
Calling is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
