Viola Sullivan
Former New Knoxville resident Viola M. Sullivan, 92, died at 7:30 a.m. May 23, 2008, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster, where she had been a resident the past five years.
She was born Feb. 16, 1916, in New Knoxville to Louis and Caroline (Warner) Meckstroth. On Dec. 1, 1938, she married Vernon L. Sullivan, who died Feb. 6, 1977.
Surviving are a son, William, New Bremen, and a sister, Marie Sharp, Michigan.
Deceased are two brothers, Elmer and Leroy Meckstroth, and a sister, Elnor Katterheinrich.
She was a homemaker and cook at New Knoxville Local School, where she graduated high school. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville.
Services are 4 p.m. Friday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Rev. David A. Williams officiating. Her body was cremated and will be interred in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville, at a later date.
Calling is 1-4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
