Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Richard Mescher
Richard "Dick" E. Mescher, 68, Kettering, died Aug. 7, 2008 in Dayton.
He was born to Leo and Salome Mescher on Oct. 23, 1939. On June 8, 1968, he married Delore Fecher, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Bradley (May), Walled Lake, Mich., and Bruce (Claudia), Sao Paulo, Brazil; a daughter, Brenda (Jeffery) Knight, Riverside; a brother, Stephen (Mary), New Bremen; a sister, Sandra (Linus) Clune, St. Henry; and nine grandchildren.
He was a machinist at Delco Moraine GM Division and worked part-time at Do-it-Yourself Rental. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of the VFW post #2800. He was a member of the Church of the Ascension, Kettering.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday at Routsong Funeral Home, Kettering.
