Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Morris Slone
Morris Leon Slone, 63, Troy, died at 8:53 a.m. Aug. 17, 2008, at his residence. Death was due to cancer.
He was born Nov. 20, 1944, in Richmond, Ky., to Orvalle and Dessie Morris Slone, who are deceased. A stepfather, Joseph Norris, also is deceased. His ex-wife, Dolores Culver Schwieterman of Celina, survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Thad (Susan), Fletcher, and Jason (Chastity), Troy; two daughters, Heather (Scott) Johnson and Shanda (Ryan) Stammen, all of Troy; a sister, Sandra K., Centerville; and 11 grandchildren.
He was retired from General Motors. He was an active member of the Air National Guard for six years. He was a 1963 graduate of Fairview High School and attended Sinclair Community College. He was a member of Troy Fish & Game and the Troy Eagles.
A celebration of life service is 5-11 p.m. Sept. 6 at Staunton Grange, Troy.
